3D inventory of the PGE Opole power plant

In the northern part of Opole, below the mouth of the Mała Panew River to the Odra River, there is the PGE Opole Power Plant, whose main task is to provide favorable conditions for supplying the urbanized and industrialized region.

The power plant has been scanned by us in order to obtain precise information about the entire installation and all the equipment necessary to perform the appropriate modernization and to detect any collisions. We used the FARO Focus x130 scanner for this task. To ensure optimal accuracy, a geodetic network was established in the power plant. The measurement work took 27 days, they included eight spacious facilities: four 7-storey and four 3-storey. 2872 scans were taken in shades of intensity of the laser beam reflection. In addition, we took to making panoramas in high definition. High-resolution panoramic 3D-WebShare scenes were also created.

Benefits:

  • remote implementation of modernization plans and projects;
  • minimizing inspections at the power plant;
  • significant job simplification and time saving for designers, by eliminating possible collisions at the stage of project implementation, based on outdated technical documentation of the investment;
  • no impact on the operation of equipment located on the site of the power plant during measurements.
