One of the projects from the maritime industry concerned the restoration of the yacht’s geometry.
The first part of the project was related to recreating the shape of the tank model for probing. Probing such objects involves measuring the volume of the tank, thanks to which it is possible to determine the amount of a given material (water, fuel, oil) that the tank can fill. The shape of the tanks was recreated based on the point cloud – based on cross-sections every 10 cm.
The second part of the project consisted of recreating the theoretical lines of the yacht. These lines show the outline of the watercraft’s hull. They were drawn on three views: side, transverse and horizontal.
