scan3D had the honor to be a sponsor and active participant of the openBIM Poland 2024 event, organized by buildingSMART Polska. The event took place on May 16, 2024 at the Copernicus Science Center in Warsaw, bringing together industry experts to discuss digitalization, standardization, and practical applications of openBIM.
During the conference, Michał Racław, Business Development Manager at scan3D, gave an inspiring lecture entitled “Digital Construction – or how to effectively verify the investment process”. The presentation focused on the role of openBIM models in the investment process – thanks to which it was possible to easily and effectively analyze key design data, eliminate errors, and accelerate decision-making processes. Michał presented how digital openBIM models ensure transparency at every stage of the investment, facilitating cooperation between all participants of the construction process.
- Benefits of Digital Construction: The use of digital technologies allows for precise verification of the investment implementation, which eliminates errors and optimizes construction processes already during their implementation.
- As-Built 3D Model: As-built 3D models accurately reflect the actual condition of the facility, enabling comparison with design assumptions. This makes it easy to identify discrepancies and make corrections.
- Digital Facility Management: Current 3D models support building management during its use, providing full insight into infrastructure and system data.
- Goal: The use of digital verification tools minimizes risk, reduces costs and increases efficiency, enabling transparent management of the entire facility life cycle.
During the event, we also presented our instruments for acquiring spatial data: stationary Leica scanners, mobile NavVis VLX scanners, drones and GPR equipment with precise detectors. It is always a good opportunity to present and compare technologies that allow for comprehensive documentation of facilities and analysis of spatial data with exceptional accuracy with BIM models.
Our BIM department also actively participated in the event, having the opportunity to exchange knowledge with other specialists and learn about the latest trends and technologies in openBIM. The new dose of knowledge and valuable experience gained will certainly translate into an even better quality of services provided by us.
As a corporate member of the buildingSMART Polska Association, scan3D constantly promotes innovation and the development of openBIM standards. We would like to thank everyone who visited our stand and took part in the lecture – we are glad that we could build the future of digital construction together.
