We had the opportunity to participate in the prestigious Polish Ports 2030 Congress, which took place on June 10-11 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sopot. The event gathered over 500 participants, 70 experts and numerous thematic panels. For us, it was a unique opportunity to emphasize how important it is to have knowledge and experience in the field of digitalization of seaports.
Digital twins of ports became the main topic of the presentation by Michał Racław, Business Development Manager at scan3D. Michał presented how good data is the foundation of digital twins, which revolutionize the management of assets and critical infrastructure. We emphasized that 3D scanning, BIM, GPR surveys of underground infrastructure are tools necessary for effective planning and development of ports.
The importance of port digitalization
The Polish Ports 2030 Congress was also an excellent opportunity to discuss the future and directions of development of Polish ports. Panel V ESG in Ports, Terminals and Shipping, moderated by dr Joanna Czerepko, gathered speakers such as Kamil Jagodziński from Race For The Baltic, Tomasz Gasiński from Deloitte and Michał Racław from scan3D.
The debate discussed how digitalization supports the development of ports, enabling better management of resources and infrastructure. Thanks to digital twins of ports, it is possible not only to precisely monitor the technical condition, but also to optimize operational processes.
Key technologies
Digitalization of seaports is essential for managing assets and critical infrastructure. Technologies such as BIM, 3D scanning, GPR and precise detection of underground infrastructure play a key role in creating digital twins of ports. Thanks to them, it is possible to accurately reproduce reality and create virtual models that facilitate the planning, management and development of ports.
Summary
Our participation in the Polish Ports 2030 Congress allowed us to exchange experiences with industry experts and to emphasize the importance of port digitalization. Knowledge and experience are key to the development of modern seaports, and good data is the foundation of digital twins, which are revolutionizing the management of critical infrastructure.
